Navigation Fix

I’ve been testing my new app with a few friends, and it’s been pretty eye-opening. I watched my brother spend nearly two minutes just trying to find the "Settings" menu, which I thought was in a totally obvious spot. It’s frustrating because I want the app to be helpful, but if people can’t even find basic buttons, they’re just going to give up. Does anyone have tips on how to structure navigation so it feels more natural and less like a scavenger hunt for the user?

I totally get where you're coming from; I once built a recipe app where people couldn't find the "save" button, and it was a total disaster. I've realized that on a phone, people really just want things to be "quiet" and predictable so they don't have to think. I actually found some solid advice on https://www.figbat.com/blog/why-mobile-entertainment-platforms-keep/ about keeping the interface simple and avoiding all that unnecessary clutter that distracts from the core features. My best move was moving the most important stuff to a bottom tab bar—it’s way easier for people to hit with their thumbs while they’re on the move.
